About FyrTech
Founded by two operators with deep experience in mid-market managed services and cybersecurity. Built on one conviction: small businesses deserve that same caliber of protection, scaled to fit.
Why We Exist
Why FyrTech Exists
Small businesses get the worst of IT. We set out to fix the incentive that causes it.
FyrTech was founded on a recurring observation across decades of building and operating IT companies, running large managed services providers, and leading security programs in regulated industries: small businesses get the worst version of every part of the IT industry. They pay enterprise prices for consumer-grade service, get sold security tools that do not match their actual risk, sign multi-year contracts that are difficult to leave, and have no easy way to evaluate whether what they are buying is working.
Most of these relationships fail on alignment, not on effort. The provider grows when the client spends more. The client grows when the business succeeds. When those two incentives line up, the relationship works. When they diverge, it works against the client.
FyrTech was built to keep those incentives aligned. We grow by keeping clients, which means honest reporting and recommendations a CFO can scrutinize line by line. Sometimes that means improving a current provider relationship. Sometimes it means making a change. Either way, the call stays with you, and the rationale is always on the record.
The Team
Meet The Founders
The team behind FyrTech, with backgrounds spanning managed services operations and finance, and mid-market security and AI governance.
Joseph Holko
Co-founder
For the last 15 years, Joseph Holko has worked with hundreds of companies, including foundations, investment firms, and professional services companies, often serving as a fractional CTO or senior technology advisor.
Earlier in his career, he helped grow a managed services business from a small operation into a company ranking in the top 1% of revenue in the space, before it was eventually sold. Most of that work wasn't glamorous. It involved vendor negotiations, infrastructure planning, cloud migrations, security decisions, pricing pressure, and the day-to-day operational problems clients usually never see.
After the sale, he led the integration of four acquired companies into a single operating environment and later oversaw internal infrastructure, procurement, support operations, and vendor management. The experience gave him exposure to both the technical and financial realities behind technology services businesses.
At FyrTech, Joseph focuses on two areas. The first is helping organizations evaluate their current IT relationships and technology direction. Having operated inside a services company himself, he tends to recognize quickly where a provider is aligned with a client's actual needs and where the sales process is covering for operational weaknesses. The second is building FyrTech's internal AI tooling, work that currently centers on knowledge retrieval, workflow automation, and practical AI adoption inside operating businesses.
Joseph works best with organizations going through transition: growth, operational change, provider replacement, or post-acquisition integration.
Jason Martino
Co-founder
Jason Martino brings 21 years in technology to FyrTech, including 16 inside managed service providers and, more recently, leading security and compliance as a CISO while also advising companies across regulated industries as a virtual CISO. He co-founded the firm to put that experience to work for small businesses.
Inside FyrTech, Jason architects the systems the firm runs on, starting with the AI engine that lets a focused team deliver the depth and range of a much larger provider. He designed The Forge, the repeatable process that carries every client from the first assessment through ongoing improvement. Leading the security and compliance practice, he also sets the security-first standard that guides how the whole team works.
Jason works directly with clients across medical, legal, financial, manufacturing, and established service businesses. He interprets compliance requirements like HIPAA and SOC 2 and builds the programs that meet them, connecting policy to day-to-day practice. Most security failures start with the fundamentals, so that is where he focuses. The gaps that cause the most damage are usually the ones a basic control would have closed. He has spoken at conferences and webinars on third-party risk management and on aligning security and resilience to better business outcomes.
Standards We Map To
What We Build On
Every FyrTech engagement is grounded in established frameworks rather than vendor-proprietary methodology.
These are the standards we map our work to so that audit trails, board reports, and insurance attestations have something defensible behind them.
Our Commitments
What We Believe
The four commitments that shape every FyrTech engagement, drawn directly from each founder's experience.
Independent By Design
No reseller commissions. No vendor kickbacks. Our incentive is the long-term client relationship, which only survives when our advice is honest enough to be acted on by your CFO.
Security-First As A Baseline
Every engagement starts from established frameworks like the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and the CIS Critical Security Controls. Jason's background means security shapes the architecture of the work, rather than getting bolted on at the end.
Plain English By Practice
Recommendations come back in language you can take to your board, your CFO, your team, or your insurer without translation. At FyrTech, clear explanation is treated as part of the work, not an add-on.
Sized For Small Business
We work with organizations of roughly 5 to 50 employees, where Joseph's operational experience is most relevant and where decisions about technology, security, compliance, and vendor selection all carry real weight on the business.
