    Vendor-Independent IT Consulting

Independent guidance for small businesses on security and compliance, IT strategy, and provider evaluation.

    Independent Consulting

Independent IT & Security Consulting, Wherever You Are

FyrTech provides independent technology consulting to small businesses in Fairfield County, Connecticut, including Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport, and Wilton. Our consulting practice is not limited to Connecticut. Engagements run nationwide through secure remote tooling, so the work looks the same whether your office is down the street or across the country.

We are independent by design. We do not resell a vendor stack and we take no referral commissions, so our incentives stay aligned with the recommendation that is right for your business. Most engagements start with a scoping conversation. Tell us what you are working on and we will tell you whether consulting, an independent assessment, or a different starting point makes the most sense. And if managed services is the right fit, every client moves through The Forge, our process.

    Transparent Pricing

    How Pricing Works

Engagements fit one of four models. You know the price structure before any work begins, and the proposal makes explicit what is inside the number.

    Technology Confidence Assessment

    Fixed price

The initial engagement. Scope and price agreed before work starts. You receive a written report with prioritized recommendations regardless of whether you continue with FyrTech afterwards.

    Project work

    Fixed price, scoped

Defined-scope deliverables like security assessments, vendor evaluation, AI readiness reviews, or migration planning. Quoted in advance, no hourly billing surprises.

    Retained advisory

    Monthly retainer

Flat monthly rate against an agreed number of working hours and standing meetings. No hourly billing for quick questions inside an active engagement.

    Managed services

    Per user, per month

Ongoing operational relationship. Quoted per user per month, with everything it includes spelled out on the proposal so audits and renewals stay straightforward.

    Security & Compliance

    Security & Compliance Consulting

A grounded, framework-based security practice for small businesses in Fairfield County and across the country, built around NIST CSF and the CIS Controls.

Most small businesses do not know what their actual cyber risk exposure looks like until something goes wrong. A FyrTech cybersecurity risk assessment starts from a structured baseline, either the NIST Cybersecurity Framework or the CIS Critical Security Controls depending on your industry, and works through your environment to identify where the gaps are and how exploitable they are in the real world. You receive a written report and a prioritized remediation plan, plus an executive summary suitable for a board, an insurer, or an audit. For small businesses in Fairfield County and nationwide, this is the foundation we recommend before any other security investment, because every later decision becomes cheaper and clearer once the baseline is in place.

    • Asset, data, and identity inventory
    • Network, endpoint, cloud, and SaaS control review
    • NIST CSF or CIS Controls scoring against current state
    • Prioritized remediation roadmap with effort and impact ranking
    • Executive summary for board, insurer, or audit use

    Strategic IT

    IT Strategy & Business Consulting

Executive-level technology guidance for organizations that need a strategic IT perspective without hiring a full-time CTO or CIO. Often delivered as a retained advisory engagement.

A technology roadmap ties IT investments to your business outcomes over a multi-year horizon, so spending decisions have a real reason behind them. We produce a roadmap document that covers infrastructure refresh cycles, software renewals, security and compliance milestones, AI optionality, and the budget implications of each. The roadmap gets reviewed quarterly as the market shifts and your priorities evolve, so it stays a living document instead of a binder on a shelf. For small businesses in Fairfield County planning growth, fundraising, acquisition activity, or due diligence with investors, lenders, buyers, or strategic partners, a credible technology roadmap is often a prerequisite for the conversation.

    • Three to five-year horizon planning
    • Infrastructure refresh and depreciation alignment
    • Security and compliance milestone integration
    • Quarterly review and update cadence

    Provider Evaluation

    IT Provider Evaluation

An independent evaluation of your current IT provider, infrastructure, and security posture, built around our Technology Confidence Assessment framework. Used by small businesses across Fairfield County and nationwide who want a clear answer before they renew, switch, or escalate.

We pull and analyze ticket history, response time data, resolution patterns, and any service-level reporting your current provider produces. The picture that emerges is rarely the one that gets presented in monthly review meetings. We compare actual performance against the SLAs in your contract and against benchmarks from comparable small businesses in Fairfield County and nationwide, so you have an objective baseline rather than a feeling.

    Provider Transition

    MSP Transition Management

For clients who decide to leave their current managed services provider, we project-manage a coordinated, secure transition end to end. Most transitions run 4 to 8 weeks from kickoff to cutover, with 90 days of stabilization support after.

Provider transitions go badly when they are unplanned. We document a timeline, a sequence of work, and a coordinated departure that minimizes business disruption. This includes coordinating notice periods, calendaring the cutover window around your business cycles, aligning on which party owns which step, and getting contractual obligations documented in writing before any technical work begins. For most Fairfield County small businesses, the planning phase runs two to three weeks before any actual transition activity starts, because the cost of a rushed exit is almost always higher than the cost of doing it right.
